Ladakh – The Land of High Passes

Discover the mystical beauty of Ladakh — a high-altitude desert where ancient monasteries, snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, and untouched valleys create an unforgettable Himalayan experience. Spread across 96,701 sq. km, Ladakh comprises two districts — Leh and Kargil — with a population of approximately 2 lakh people. Due to heavy snowfall and extreme winters, the Srinagar–Leh and Manali–Leh highways remain closed between November and June. Leh, the capital, sits at 10,000 ft above sea level, making acclimatization essential. Ladakh is also home to one of the world’s highest motorable passes — Khardung La at 18,000+ ft.
